Room Planner: quick reference

Rooms and views

+ Add roomNew rooms are named Room 1, Room 2, …. Double-click a name in the Rooms list (or edit it in the right panel) to rename it. Names must be unique.
One room / All roomsSwitch between drawing one room and a board showing every room (G). In All rooms, click a room to make it active, double-click to open it, and drag furniture from one room to another to move it.
Box → move to roomPress N (or the tool button) and drag a box around walls and furniture. Then pick an existing room and press Move, or name a new room and press Create room. The objects move out of their old room. When you select several things another way (Shift-click, Shift-drag, double-click a wall), the panel's Move to room… button does the same.

Furniture list

AddPick a preset (or a custom shape), set how many you have, and press Add. Adding the same preset again increases its count.
placeDrag a row onto a room on the canvas or onto a room in the Rooms list, or press ⤓ and click where it goes. The badge shows placed / total, e.g. 1/2.
editClick a row to edit its name, size, shape, color and count. Changes apply to every placed copy.

Drawing walls (W)

startClick the canvas (clicking an existing corner connects to it), or enter a start X / Y in the panel and press Start here. A new run of walls continues from the last corner by default.
Length boxType a length. While you're in the box, the arrow keys (← ↑ → ↓) set the direction.
DirectionClick one of the 8 arrows, or type any angle in the Angle box. 0° = right, 90° = up, 180° = left, 270° = down. This only sets the direction.
↺ / ↻ 90°Set the direction by turning left or right from the last wall.
Add wall / EnterAdds the wall. The dashed preview shows it beforehand.
mouseClick to place each next corner. Shift keeps it to 45° steps.
Close roomDraws the last wall back to the first corner.
Finish / EscEnds the run of walls. Esc again (or V) goes back to Select.
BackspaceWith the length box empty: removes the last wall of the run.

Lengths

12' 6" 12ft 6in 150" 12-6Imperial. A bare number means feet in ft/in mode.
3.5m 350cm 3500mmMetric. A bare number means cm in m/cm mode.

Pinning and changing wall length

pinSelect a corner and press P, or use the Pin buttons on a wall. Pinned corners (red) never move when you drag or change a length.
lengthSelect a wall and type a new length. The pinned end is the anchor (green ring) and the other end moves. With “carry the next wall” on, the wall beyond the moving corner shifts with it, so a rectangle stays a rectangle.
